Position: Casual Sports Pitch Caretaker
Team: Active Wellbeing
Location: Anker Valley Community Sports Complex
Hourly rate: £13.69 per hour
Working hours: Casual basis, including evenings, weekends, and match days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, prepare, and secure the 3G artificial grass pitch and natural turf sports pitches, changing rooms, and associated equipment to ensure safe, playable conditions.
- Clean, pick litter, and open/close facilities.
- Manage bookings and liaise with the booking team.
- Act as key holder, opening and securing the site on match days and weekday evenings.
- Use appropriate resources and materials to clean changing rooms, floors, walls, and toilets.
- Support the business support team with booking procedure improvements and pitch conditions of hire.
- Report defects, damage, incidents, or accidents; liaise with league and club secretaries or treasurers; assist members of the public with enquiries.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Current DBS check and medical clearance.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Positive attitude towards working outdoors in all weather.
- Experience with sports pitch maintenance or related roles is desirable.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to be reliable on casual and flexible working days.
