Old Hill Primary School (SIPS) is a welcoming and inclusive school committed to supporting every pupil to achieve their full potential. We are seeking to appoint confident, committed and enthusiastic Meal Supervisory Assistants on a casual basis to join our OPAL play team during lunchtimes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in creating a rich, engaging and inclusive play environment where all pupils can thrive.

Successful candidates will work closely with existing team members to ensure playtimes are safe, purposeful and enjoyable for all children. We are looking for applicants who are friendly, fair, proactive, calm, confident and positive in their approach. You should have a genuine enjoyment of working with children, the ability to use your own initiative and a willingness to uphold the school’s behaviour policy where necessary. Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage, but is not essential. More importantly, you will be an excellent role model for our pupils and committed to supporting their wellbeing and development.

Responsibilities
  • Join the OPAL play team during lunchtimes to supervise and support pupil play.
  • Create a safe, engaging and inclusive play environment for all pupils.
  • Collaborate with existing team members to ensure playtimes are safe, purposeful and enjoyable.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Friendly, fair, proactive, calm, confident and positive in approach.
  • Genuine enjoyment of working with children; ability to use own initiative.
  • Commitment to upholding the school’s behaviour policy where necessary.
  • Previous experience of working with children is advantageous but not essential.
  • Committed to safeguarding, wellbeing and development of pupils.
  • Willingness to undertake safeguarding checks and an enhanced DBS check.
  • This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; an enhanced DBS check including a Children's Bar List Check is required.
  • Ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
Remuneration, Hours and Location
  • Hours: 7.5 hours per week, Term Time Only.
  • Grade: Grade B SCP 4 £25,185 (Actual Salary £4,457 to £4,516 p.a.).
  • Location: Old Hill Primary School, Lawrence Lane, Cradley Heath, West Midlands B64 6DR.
