Position

Teaching Assistant, Pebworth First School (part of Pebworth First and Blackminster Middle Schools Federation). Hours: 35 per week (permanent, term time only). Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 per annum pro rata.

Job Summary

The role is to support children and young people in learning, growing, thriving, achieving their best, improving behaviour, supporting welfare, delivering interventions for academic and pastoral development, and working alongside teachers to support in‑class learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and improve standards of behaviour.
  • Support the welfare of students.
  • Deliver a range of interventions to support academic and pastoral development.
  • Assist teachers in supporting in‑class learning.
  • Carry out duties to create a safe and friendly environment.
  • Occasionally travel to the Middle school in Blackminster.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Good interpersonal skills, confident and professional manner.
  • Good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Resilience, sense of humour, flexibility and drive to make a difference.

Safeguarding

Applicants must undertake a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the appointment will be conditional upon a satisfactory DBS result.
