We are looking to appoint a Careers Adviser to join our progressive careers department to help equip students to thrive in their next steps. The successful candidate would be part of a key team who oversee the school’s careers education and work experience programme providing CEIAG guidance (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance) to pupils via individual appointments, Drop‑In sessions, Group workshops or sessions delivered as part of our SPHERE programme or curriculum specific events.
The careers team also oversee and produce a range of resources for students to use to plan their next steps. A qualification in Careers Guidance at Level 6 or above is highly desirable; however, applicants without this qualification but with relevant experience and a willingness to complete the training alongside the role are actively encouraged to apply.
The post is for 4 days per week: 28 hours per week, based on 8.00am to 4.10pm, Monday to Thursday, term time (38 weeks) plus 5 staff learning days; equalling 39 weeks per annum. Starting salary for a full‑time post at Band G (points 12‑18) is within the range £28,598 to £31,537, starting point depending on experience and qualifications. The actual salary for the hours / weeks worked will be in the range of £18,749 - £20,676 subject to any continuous service.
