Are you looking for an interesting and challenging role in finance? Do you want to make a difference and ensure the Council is ready for the future? If yes, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic individual to join the Finance Team at Cherwell District Council.
The team provides support across a wide range of Council and associated company activities, which provides an exciting backdrop for new team members. In addition, the Finance Team is seeking to evolve so that it can provide support in the complex world of a modern local authority.
In this role, you will support the Head of Finance in the Corporate Finance section. The role involves leading on the preparation of the Council’s annual statement of accounts and supporting the council’s ambitious transformation process. You will have the chance to learn and develop a diverse knowledge and understanding of local authority accounting and will be at the heart of exciting projects to transform the council’s services for our residents.
The Council is an equal opportunities employer and has flexible working practices offering agile working, which means we don’t have a rigid work location, our staff work from home and from our modern new office space at Castle Quay, Banbury to suit business needs.
