Milton Primary Academy (part of Windsor Academy Trust) is seeking to recruit an experienced member to the school Welfare Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who already has experience of working closely with pupils and their families, to work in a different setting and be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead too.

At Milton Primary, we pride ourselves on our safe, nurturing environment and work hard to support families. Relationships with parents, the community and external agencies are vital in ensuring we meet pupils’ needs and extend our school offer beyond the school setting. This role is instrumental in ensuring we offer the right support at the right time. The Welfare Assistant will be responsible for providing help and support for the social, physical and emotional welfare of pupils at Milton Primary Academy.

Role details:

  • Part time - 28 hours a week – 8.30am-4pm including a 30-minute lunch.
  • Tuesday to Friday, term time only
  • Permanent
  • Paid at Grade 4 - £28,598 - £30,518 pro rata

Successful candidate will:

  • Place safeguarding as a high priority.
  • Have experience of successfully working with families and pupils via Early Help or above.
  • Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and understand school policies and practice.
  • Be a good communicator, well organised and have strong record keeping skills.
  • Be able to build positive professional relationships with families and within the wider community reach.
  • Support pupils from EYFS to Y6 with focused interventions and plan next steps.
  • Work as part of a team and work towards a shared vision.
  • Be flexible and able to support the school as required when supporting families.
  • Be organised and confident to lead in meetings.
  • Be able to use computer systems for record keeping.
