Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s learning? Do you have the skills to support and inspire pupils in a warm and inclusive environment? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Hillside Primary School is a friendly and welcoming primary school where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their best. We are seeking a dedicated Teaching & Learning Assistant to join our team for 25 hours per week to help provide high-quality learning support both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Provide learning activities for individuals and groups, differentiating and adapting to suit the needs of the pupils.
  • Support pupils’ social and emotional wellbeing and guide them in their personal, emotional and social development.
  • Work with individuals and groups of pupils throughout the day including in the classroom, playground and dining areas.
  • Work as part of a team with school staff, parents & families and outside agencies.
  • Promote the school’s values and ethos in all aspects of school life, upholding our high expectations.

Qualifications

  • Has experience of working with children (preferably in a school setting).
  • Is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to helping children succeed.
  • Can work effectively as part of a supportive team.
  • Has good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Shows initiative and flexibility in responding to the needs of pupils.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Amendment Order 1986 and, as such, it will be necessary for a Submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Asylum and Immigration

To comply with Asylum and Immigration legislation you will be required (if appointed) to provide one or more documents from the Immigration Act 2006 – List A and B. You must provide proof of current and valid permission to be in the United Kingdom and valid permission to do the type of work offered.

The post holder will hold or be working towards a recognised, relevant, NVQ3 (or above) qualification (or equivalent qualification).
