About Us

Alpha Learning is a small Independent School that has recently gained its Ofsted registration. We cater for KS3 and KS4 students who have struggled previously and require some intervention to be able to return to mainstream.

We are seeking to employ a teacher (Qualified) of Maths who has a good subject knowledge who can deliver both Functional skills and GCSE maths at KS4, along with KS3 maths. You will also plan, resource, and deliver a second subject—such as Humanities, Citizenship, or PSHE—depending on your strengths and school need.

Our small class sizes (maximum of 10 students per group) and strong pastoral focus allow you to build meaningful relationships and make a genuine impact on learners who may have complex needs. It is desirable that you have prior experience working with students with social and emotional and mental health needs; a working knowledge of SEN would be beneficial. You will have a strong awareness of safeguarding and be prepared to become familiar with and follow the policies of the independent school.

Hours of work – 8 am – 5 pm Mon – to attend staff meeting, Tues, Wed, Thurs, 8 am - 4 pm, Friday, 8 am - 3 pm. Teaching times 9.30 am - 2.30 pm. This role requires an Enhanced DBS check. Salary dependent upon experience expected range: Qualified - £30,000 – £35,000.
