Heron Cross Primary School is a creative and joyful primary school where children are at the centre of all that we do.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Premises Manager to play a vital role in ensuring our thriving primary school remains a safe, secure, and inspiring place for children, staff, and visitors.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, takes initiative, and wants to make a real difference in our school community.

The Premises Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and security of our school site.

Working closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager and leadership team, you will ensure that our buildings and grounds are safe, compliant, and well-presented at all times.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing the security of the school site, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Carrying out routine inspections, maintenance, repairs, and health and safety checks.
  • Coordinating contractors and overseeing planned maintenance works.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety, fire safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Maintaining school grounds and outdoor learning environments to a high standard.
  • Managing site-related budgets, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supporting school events and activities as required.
  • Responding promptly to site emergencies and maintenance issues.
