Wood Lane Primary School – Office Services Manager
Permanent - Full Time - Term Time only
Salary: Grade 6 £27,254 – £30,024 pro rata actual salary £24,079 – £26,526 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth running of the school’s administrative functions, providing excellent support for the Headteacher and staff in a fast‑paced, busy small school environment.
- Support the Headteacher and wider school operation in the background, helping to make things happen.
- Assist in the delivery of the school’s rapid transformation agenda, maintaining high expectations and cultivating a culture where anything is possible.
- Provide effective office services, including handling correspondence, scheduling meetings, and managing school documents.
Qualifications
- Be organised and meticulous in presentation and time management.
- Have experience in using financial information and in budget monitoring, including payroll functions.
- Be competent and efficient in word processing and in using a range of computer software packages to support administration such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Be able to set up processes and schedules, embracing principles of sound operational management.
- Demonstrate an understanding of people management techniques.
- Be able to communicate warmly and professionally with contractors, external services and all school stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and hold the Headteacher’s counsel.
- Have a sense of humour.
- Have experience in HR processes and procedures.
- Hold Paediatric First Aid / Basic First Aid or be willing to train to the required standard.
- Have a secure and working command of English (GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths is a must).
- Previous experience in education and of working in a busy office is required.
- Financial and HR training, knowledge of the SIMS ICT program would be advantageous although helpful, is not essential.
- Experience in working with senior staff who hold a challenging caseload of priorities is beneficial.
