Stoke-on-Trent City Council — Directorate: Housing Regeneration and Operations; Section: Emergency Planning; Location: Civic Centre; Grade: Level 7; Salary: £31,022 - £33,699; Hours: 37 hours per week. This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review emergency and business continuity plans, run training and exercises, and help services prepare for and manage disruption.
- Work closely with partners across the Local Resilience Forum on planning for severe weather, loss of utilities, major incidents and community recovery.
- Draft guidance, lead workshops, test plans, support colleagues during an incident or give clear, practical advice to teams and residents.
- Help ensure essential services continue during challenging situations and contribute to learning, growth and positive impact.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in emergency planning, business continuity or a related field, with a good understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act, national guidance and JESIP principles.
- Ability to write plans, deliver training, work with partners and stay calm under pressure.
- Commitment to helping communities, enjoyment of working with people and clear, empathetic communication.
