The Role

Does a role of Property Surveyor working across a diverse public building's property estate interest you? We have an exciting opportunity to join the Property team to contribute to maintaining and optimising the councils public buildings estate.

The post holder will manage a wide variety of projects and schemes relating to public buildings, including maintenance, repair, renewal and modernisation of corporately owned property. As a key member of the Property team, you will be working across a variety of buildings, examples of these being offices, family hubs, libraries, leisure centres, parks and residential homes.

The successful candidate will assist in implementation of the council's corporate and service asset management plans and policies. The activities within the role are closely linked to the outcome Condition Surveys, Fire Risk Assessments, and the requirements managing a diverse range of occupied and vacant buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of property related projects
• Formulate property repair solutions
• Interpret condition survey data and create specifications
• Liaise with Council departments to ascertain property related requirements
• Check completed works to ensure a suitable standard has been achieved

About You

• Hold a Building Surveyor degree or similar
• Experience of maintaining public buildings
• Suitable knowledge and experience to enable specifications to be formulated
• Experience of maintaining historic buildings
• Knowledge in construction legislation
• Able to work in an environment with conflicting demands
