Stoke-on-Trent City Council is looking for an enthusiastic Active Travel Officer to lead engagement with workplaces across the city, helping employers encourage healthier, more sustainable travel choices. Working with businesses of all sizes, you'll support the development of Workplace Travel Plans, identify barriers to sustainable travel and deliver practical initiatives that encourage staff to choose active and sustainable modes of transport.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting businesses to develop Workplace Travel Plans.
  • Building relationships with employers and business networks.
  • Planning and delivering active travel campaigns and events.
  • Organising workplace initiatives such as walking and cycling challenges, Dr Bike sessions and travel awareness events.
  • Promoting national campaigns including Bike Week, Walk to Work Week and Clean Air Day.
  • Monitoring the impact of projects and identifying opportunities for future initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience of engaging with a range of stakeholders, and a passion for behaviour change and sustainable transport.
  • Experience in workplace travel planning or active travel is desirable but not essential.
