Temporary position until 31st August 2027 at St Leonard's CofE (C) First School, Dunston.

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) due to medical needs. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to support the child’s academic, social, and emotional development within the classroom. This is a temporary position for the period specified above; however, there is potential for the role to be extended if additional funding becomes available.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with additional medical needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Is patient, flexible, and committed to inclusive education
  • Works effectively as part of a team and uses initiative
  • Is enthusiastic about helping children thrive and achieve their potential

Early Years qualifications are essential for this role. We have strong links with St Leonard’s Church and candidates will be expected to support the Christian Distinctiveness of our school.
