Staffordshire County Council's Care Market Assurance and Improvement (CMAI) service is responsible for quality assurance, provider improvement, and market development. This involves undertaking a variety of duties to help provide assurance that services are safe and meet the assessed needs of clients. The team actively supports providers to develop improvement plans for underperforming services, workforce development, training, and other events.

The CMAI service takes a lead role in Provider Failure and manages information systems, tracking the quality of the adult care market. The Quality Intelligence Support Officer role is part of the Council’s Quality Assurance Team, which works with adult social care providers to ensure people receive safe, effective, and high-quality care. This is a hybrid working role including work from home and Council offices, operating within the Council's core hours Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.

Main Responsibilities

  • Focus on the quality intelligence side of the team, working with care providers, people who use services, and partner organisations to gather and coordinate important feedback and intelligence.
  • Using this information to identify themes, support investigations where needed, share learning, and contribute to improvements that enhance the quality of care.
  • Coordinate feedback processes, work with care providers to address concerns, monitor progress, and help improve systems and ways of working.
  • Gather, maintain, and analyse information from different sources to identify themes, risks, and learning, supporting decisions and directing concerns to the appropriate team or agency.
  • Act as a first point of contact for providers, colleagues, and partners, offering clear support and responding to urgent or serious concerns.
  • Listen to people who use services, families, and carers, build positive relationships with providers and partners, and share advice, learning, and good practice to support better care.

You’ll help ensure that people's voices are heard, concerns are acted upon, and learning is used to improve the quality of care across Staffordshire.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Customer service and solution-focused officer, with a passion for improving the care market.
  • Effective customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience of using Excel and databases, with significant attention to detail.
  • Experience of identifying and reporting risks.
  • Able to maintain high levels of accuracy with significant attention to detail.
  • Ability to audit or analyse information from a variety of sources and identify trends and themes.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and manage own workload.
