Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Fixed term until July 2027

£13.26 per hour (Pay award pending)

19.5 hours per week over 3 or 4 days

43.89 weeks per year.

Required for: October 2026

St Michael’s CE(A) First School sits at the heart of the village of Penkridge benefiting from a close relationship with the church and wider community. We have happy, polite and motivated pupils who make coming to school each day a pleasure.

We are looking for a part-time teaching assistant to add capacity to our staff team. This is an exciting and varied role in which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with children across key stage 1 and 2. The post will involve supporting groups and individuals both in class and as part of small group intervention.

This is a fixed term post until July 2027 in the first instance. Budget review March 2027 will inform any extension.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in a school setting delivering intervention and small group support
  • Is flexible, organised and able to manage their time effectively
  • Has good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to adults and children
  • Is committed to promoting our Christian values
