We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused finance professional to support our financial reporting and day-to-day accounting activities. Working as part of a supportive finance team, you’ll assist the Accountant and other finance colleagues to help ensure our financial information and transactions are accurate, timely, and reliable. Main Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approval, and contract value compliance.
- Raise invoices promptly for schools, partner organisations, and other local authorities.
- Monitor budgets regularly, identifying variances and supporting accurate financial reporting.
- Support forecasting activities to help services manage spending and future commitments.
- Assist with annual budget setting through data preparation and financial analysis.
- Process payments to schools accurately, ensuring compliance with agreed funding arrangements.
- Respond to supplier and stakeholder queries professionally, resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and process journals, virements, accruals, and prepayments within financial systems.
- Support year-end accounting activities, including reconciliations and closure of accounts processes.
- Maintain and update pupil database records to support accurate funding and reporting.
The Ideal Candidate
- Be an AAT Member or have relevant experience.
- Have good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Have experience working in a financial services environment.
- Be able to work flexibly and creatively to meet changing priorities.
- Demonstrate effective use of spreadsheets and word processing skills.
- Have the ability to support budget monitoring and forecasting activities, with a basic understanding of variances and financial reporting.
