Do you have excellent administration skills but would like a new challenge? Does something rewarding and different appeal? If so, this may be the role for you! ASSIST provides access and support for people who have hearing and/or vision loss. The service has a focus on supporting adults in community, workplace, and further & higher education settings.

Responsibilities

  • Help with the day-to-day running of ASSIST, by working together with the Sensory Support Co-ordinators and reporting to the Project Co-ordinator.
  • Help organise community and education work which involves regular communication with staff, customers and partners.
  • Maintain and update electronic files, paper-based files and Outlook diaries with an eye for detail so that the information is accessible and understandable to the whole team.
  • Have the opportunity to develop specialist skills, knowledge and understanding in relation to sensory impairment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • You must have experience in administration or equivalent qualification.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or high-level computer skills.
  • Confident and competent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Hearing and vision impairment knowledge would be useful; however, specialist training will be provided in this area if you do not have this knowledge.
