The predicted salary is between 26.06 - 26.06 £ per hour.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and dedicated Spanish Foreign Language Assistant to join our collaborative and supportive MFL department. Applicants for this post should be fluent in Spanish, up to date with current affairs in Spain, and able to support students in building confidence in their oral skills. A good working knowledge of the aspects of speaking that are the focus of language oral examinations, with AQA at GCSE and Advanced Level, is required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct Spanish conversation lessons with Year 12 and 13 students, scheduling them as required each year, including before school, during break time, or during lunch as needed.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments and changes in exam board specifications for speaking examinations and the wider A Level course.
- Use knowledge of the Spanish A Level mark scheme to guide and advise students in their examination preparations.
- Provide copies for students and effectively use materials suitable for developing pupil skills in relation to the stimulus card and independent research project (e.g., AQA resources, Kerboodle, or other relevant articles).
- Offer written comments on student progress.
- Attend training sessions with the Modern Foreign Languages department to keep understanding of speaking examination requirements up to date.
- Keep attendance records and report pupils’ absences from lessons.
- Maintain a file of used materials and provide copies to the department as requested by the Head of Department.
- Assist teaching staff with preparing Y10 and Y11 students for their GCSE Spanish oral examination during timetabled lessons.
- Be able to teach and deliver sessions at Queen Mary’s High School as required.

Compensation
Pay range: NJC 39, £26.06 per hour plus holiday pay.
