Role Overview

We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, dedicated, and highly organised Pastoral Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the wellbeing, behaviour and attendance of pupils and their families. The Pastoral Manager will also take a lead in safeguarding across the school as the DSL.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Pastoral Manager will undertake a wide range of duties, including engaging with pupils and families on a daily basis, managing complex safeguarding matters with professionalism and sensitivity, and supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing.
  • The role is central to the school’s safeguarding provision and to the promotion of excellent attendance and punctuality, ensuring that all pupils are given the best possible opportunity to succeed.
  • The successful candidate will work to remove barriers to learning through effective collaboration with families, staff and external agencies, build and sustain positive professional relationships, and maintain the ethos of a warm, caring culture.
  • Additional duties include leading on school admissions, acting as the first point of contact for parents, carers and external agencies, providing a welcoming and professional presence, leading on first aid within the school, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed, coordinating first aid provision, and ensuring staff are trained and confident in administering first aid.
