Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Marston Green Infant Academy is seeking an experienced Office Manager to join our team and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the school office. This is a temporary position to provide maternity leave cover, starting on 1 July 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring smooth and efficient administrative functions
  • Provide essential support to the School Business Manager in operational tasks
  • Maintain student records, admissions, and attendance using the school's MIS system – SIMS
  • Manage site and administrative staff
  • Maintain and update school policies and procedures
  • Serve as Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with GDPR
  • Support the trustees of the academy as a governance professional

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in an administrative or office management role within an educational setting
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A friendly, approachable demeanour and strong customer service skills
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with school management software (e.g. SIMS, Arbor)

Hours of work: 32 hours per week

Schedule: Mon, Wed, Fri 8.30am-4.00pm and Tues, Thurs 8.15am-2.15pm

Salary: Band D £32,597-£37,280 Actual Salary: £26,169-£27,641 (TTO 39 weeks) per annum
