Walsall Council is a dynamic, welcoming team working with adults, their carers and families. The role entails supporting individuals to maximise their full potential and promote their independence following an acute episode of illness or hospital admission. The team supports with hospital discharge, rehabilitation, crisis intervention and preventing hospital admissions. We are committed to working in collaboration with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for individuals. We adopt a strength-based approach in our practice and outcome-focused support planning.
Applicants are required to have experience of safeguarding adults. The social worker role is expected to undertake statutory duties in line with the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, and undertake duties expected of social workers in line with their Professional Capabilities Framework. We will ensure you are given the opportunity to access post-qualifying training and ongoing development opportunities. ICS is an innovative service supporting hospital discharge and interim community pathways aligned to the national vision, for which Walsall has been recognised by NHS England as an area of good practice.
ICS is a seven-day service across 365 days a year and successful candidates will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis. Applicants will need to be Social Work England registered.
