Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting two Lunch Time Supervisors – one Permanent and one Fixed Term – for The Federation of Abbey Infant and Junior School.
Responsibilities
- Encourage and engage children during lunchtime.
- Demonstrate patience and work effectively with young children.
- Organise games and enrichment activities in line with school policy.
- Build positive relationships with adults and pupils and work as part of a team.
- Supervise children before and after lunch and during playground duty.
Qualifications
- Ability to speak fluent and spoken English – essential requirement under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children.
- Successful DBS clearance and satisfactory references.
Job Details
- Hours: 7.08 hours per week (Term Time Only) – 11:45 am to 1:10 pm.
- Pay: Band B, SCP 4 – £25,185 pro rata (£13.05 per hour), plus A Living Wage Supplement to £13.45 per hour payable from 1 April 2026.
- Locations: Maurice Road, Smethwick, West Midlands, B67 5LR & Barclay Road, Smethwick, West Midlands, B67 5LT.
- Contract: 1 permanent position; 1 fixed‑term position ending 21 July 2027.
