Warwickshire County Council is looking for a Mobile Site Supervisor to help manage recycling centres across the county. The role is primarily based at Hunters Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre in Rugby, with cover at other centres as required. The person will supervise staff, support the public with recycling, operate and maintain plant equipment, and ensure Health and Safety compliance. The role involves working outdoors in all weather and may include weekend and shift work. The council aims to develop staff through training and provides a range of benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of Warwickshire Recycling Centres and provide cover at multiple sites as needed.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and promote recycling on site.
  • Supervise staff and provide support/advice to members of the public with their recycling.
  • Operate and maintain plant equipment and keep sites clean and tidy.
  • Complete site-related paperwork and support health and safety adherence.
  • Contribute to staff development through relevant training opportunities.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience of managing staff and a strong interest in waste minimisation and recycling.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to work in a team and use initiative.
  • Experience of working outdoors in all weathers; capable of physical, manual work and operating machinery.
  • Flexibility to work on shifts and travel to provide cover across the county when required.
