About Us And The Role Warwickshire County Council’s Adult and Community Learning (ACL) service is a dynamic and forward‑thinking provider of adult education, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We offer a broad range of courses across community venues throughout Warwickshire, supporting adults to develop their skills, confidence, and overall wellbeing.

We are currently seeking Adult Learning Spanish Tutors to join our First Steps curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and adaptable tutors to engage and inspire adult learners in a variety of learning environments. We currently have a particular need for provision in North Warwickshire, Bedworth and Nuneaton; we would also welcome applications from candidates who are able to support delivery across the wider area.

Our courses are delivered both online and in person, with sessions available during daytime and evening hours. Classes typically run for two hours per week over a ten‑week term, offering flexibility to accommodate a range of professional and personal commitments.

About The Role

  • Deliver engaging Spanish language sessions to adult learners.
  • Support learner progress through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
  • Work across one or more community venues in North Warwickshire.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

This is a term‑time only, hourly‑paid position, offering flexibility in working patterns.

Pay: £18.35 per hour (£21.10 plus annual leave payment), plus one hour of paid preparation and marking time for every two hours of teaching.

Key Requirements

  • Experience in teaching Spanish language.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • A passion for adult education and the ability to inspire learners.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and learner support.
  • Fluency duty: must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.

We are proud to offer a broad programme of courses designed to enrich lives and strengthen communities. Joining ACL means becoming part of a supportive and collaborative team dedicated to high‑quality inclusive adult learning.

Benefits include: agile working, generous annual leave entitlement, additional bank holidays and an extra day at Christmas, access to the VivUp benefits and discounts platform, and pension scheme participation within the Teachers Pension Scheme.

Successful applicants will be subject to a range of pre‑engagement checks, including a relevant Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Warwickshire County Council is committed to equality of opportunity for all employees and is keen to address areas of under‑representation in its workforce.
