Overview

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Service Manager - Children’s Homes. This is a full-time, permanent role within Children’s Services, with strategic oversight of the council’s children’s homes and our short breaks home, and an exciting period as we progress with opening two new children’s homes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the continuing establishment and development of our new children’s homes.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and high-quality provision within children’s homes against Ofsted expectations.
  • Lead on the strategic planning of children’s home provision required in the City.
  • Provide strategic leaders with evidence of impact of our homes.
  • Be accountable for the overall performance of the service area and its various sections in relation to agreed indicators.
  • Ensure effective multi-agency working arrangements are in place to support the needs of young people.

Salary and terms

  • Salary: £66,939 – £70,283
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Contract type: full time, permanent

Working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to a fixed, field, or flexible work style. Some roles are agile to enable performance and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Roles with a fixed work style operate from a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field work style involve working in the community with a minimum requirement for touch down space at a council location. Roles with a flexible work style have a flexible base location and may involve working from home or other locations to meet service requirements.
