Senior Accountant in Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council’s Communities and Growth group. Salary Grade 10 (£42,839 – £46,142). Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro‑rated) or onsite full time. This role is a key opportunity for a qualified or final‑stage accountant to lead high‑quality financial management, support strategic decision‑making, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and produce budgets and close accounts.
- Produce accurate financial reports, grants and management accounts and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Provide insightful analysis to support business performance and medium‑term financial strategy.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified (e.g., CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW) or in final stages of qualification.
- Considerable budgeting and accounting experience.
- Relevant IT skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance colleagues.
- Self‑motivated and able to meet strict deadlines and targets.
