The Westminster School (SIPS) Inspire, Empower, Transform Lives. As part of our continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for an SEN Teacher to join our Special School. Our School is extremely successful and employs a range of dynamic teaching methods and is committed to innovative curriculum development.

You will design and deliver engaging lessons each day using creative and innovative teaching strategies that spark curiosity and enthusiasm in the classroom. You will also play a key role in monitoring and assessing students’ progress, ensuring their personal development and wellbeing are nurtured alongside their educational achievements. The School caters for 302 pupils aged 7‑19 years with a wide range of special educational needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Development Delay and Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities. The School offers a comprehensive CPD programme and has been awarded the Investors in People Platinum Award. The School occupies state‑of‑the‑art facilities on a £42 million Rowley Learning Campus.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons each day using creative and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, ensuring personal development and wellbeing are nurtured alongside academic achievements.
  • Support students with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs, empowering them to thrive and ensuring they are fully prepared and supported for life beyond education.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils who have diverse and complex needs and contribute to the school’s vision and direction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within a well‑resourced environment to enhance teaching practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified teacher with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in pupils’ lives.
  • Experience supporting students with special educational needs, particularly moderate learning difficulties.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (including Children’s Barring List Check) and relevant safeguarding checks.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is an essential requirement for this role.
