Job Description Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham, seeks to appoint a practising Catholic to the role of Lay Chaplain as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will play a central role in bearing witness to the Catholic mission and maintaining the distinctive Catholic nature of the College.

Scale: 6 Salary: £27,337 to £29,210 Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon – Fri), term time only plus 2 training days Start date: ASAP Responsibilities Be a practising Catholic, as defined by “Catholic Schools and the Definition of a ‘Practising Catholic’” – Archdiocese of Birmingham guidance, and a confident witness to the faith and formation of others.

Have a sound understanding of the Catholic faith and how to share it with others.

Enjoy working with young people and adults.

Know how to organise and plan liturgy and events such as the celebration of Mass, student‑led activities and retreats.

Requirements Past employment references, social media checks, and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check are required.
