The Staffordshire Schools Multi Academy Trust is offering a unique hybrid role that blends hands‑on kitchen work with new opportunities in catering management. Experienced cooks can serve as a Cook at a primary school and also act as an Area Supervisor for the Trust’s seven schools.

Responsibilities

  • Cook Duties: As a Cook, you will work four days a week (9:30 am‑2:30 pm) preparing fresh, nutritious meals and managing the daily service for pupils and staff. Negotiate with suppliers and monitor food costs to keep the budget on track.
  • Area Supervisor Duties: Working the remaining six hours per week as Area Supervisor you will oversee all seven schools, ensuring menu compliance with School Food Standards and accurate allergen management. Act as line manager to cooks at other sites, delivering training, appraisals and maintaining high food quality standards. Coordinate emergency cover so that no child is left without a hot meal.

Qualifications

  • Confident cook with experience in volume catering.
  • Strong organisational skills to track seven sites’ stock levels and staffing needs.
  • Calm under pressure, able to arrange backup plans when staff call in sick.
  • Valid driver’s licence and vehicle for travel between schools.
