We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant (TA2) to join the teaching team at The Griffin Primary School to start in February 2026. This position is initially in Reception and is to support a pupil with additional needs as they move through the school each year. An Early Years qualification would be preferred. The position is for 33.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

The successful candidate will have the positivity, belief, energy and enthusiasm to work with primary aged children and will be motivated to engage in reflective practice. You will have a passion for supporting children with their academic, social and emotional development, working as a member of a talented and supportive team.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about enabling all children to fulfil their potential socially and academically
  • Has the enthusiasm and ambition to make our Year 1 learning environment an outstanding and positive experience for our children
  • Is patient, thoughtful and empathetic
  • Is able to work effectively in a team and to work on their own initiative as appropriate

The successful candidate will have:

  • A good knowledge/understanding of the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
  • Experience of working in Key Stage 1/Year 1
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
