About The Role

This is an impactful, high visibility role where you have the genuine opportunity to make a real difference and affect change as you continue the work to lead the modernisation of the Council’s people approach, transitioning to a more strategic, insight-led and culturally focused People and Culture function. As our Human Resources Manager, you’ll provide strategic leadership of the Council’s Human Resources and Payroll function, encompassing all things People and Culture during a significant period of organisational transformation and transition toward a new unitary authority model. You’ll be a trusted adviser to the Chief Executive, Leadership Team and Elected Members, providing strong operational leadership, employment law expertise and advice, drive organisational development, workforce redesign, leadership capability and cultural change. You will also support Warwickshire-wide People and Culture workstreams linked to Local Government Reorganisation and unitarisation.

About You

A strategic leader with the ability to translate vision into operational delivery you’ll bring significant senior level Human Resources experience alongside experience working within Local Government or a similarly complex Public Sector organisation, with a strong understanding of Local Government workforce frameworks and governance. You’ll have a high level of resilience and political awareness with strong influencing, negotiation and relationship management skills that you’ve gained through advising senior leaders within complex or politically sensitive organisations. Operationally you’ll have strong experience managing complex employee relations issues within a unionised environment, proven experience leading complex organisational change, cultural change, restructures, service redesign or workforce integration programmes and strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations practice.
