A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our exciting, hard‑working and supportive team of committed early year’s practitioners at Whitnash Nursery School. Applications are particularly welcome from experienced candidates. It is a temporary post for the academic year 2026‑2027 full time (37 hours per week), term‑time only post with keyworker responsibilities working in our Nursery with our three and four year‑old children. This is a chance to come and work in a small, highly successful professional team with excellent opportunities for professional development. Hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm.
Our successful school is recognised as ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED in 2023 for the sixth consecutive time, with its emphasis on creative learning and holistic development and recognised nationally as an Early Years Teaching Centre.
Key Requirements
- NNEB or NVQ 4 in Childcare & Education
- Knowledge/understanding of the Early Years Curriculum
- Experience of working with 3-4 year old children
- Understand schools’ policies and how they relate to local and national framework/policies
- Able to relate well to children and adults
- Have experience of ICT as a learning/communication tool
- Have good communication skills
- Have good listening skills
- Be patient
- Able to work effectively in a team and to work on own initiative as appropriate
- Able to present information effectively to others, verbally and in writing
- Able to take responsibility for an area of learning within the nursery
- Have experience of the contribution to the organisation and management of stimulating learning environments (indoors/outdoors)
