We are recruiting a Team Manager for our Family and Adolescent Team (South) on a permanent basis. As Team Manager you will provide leadership, direction and oversight to a multi‑disciplinary team working with adolescents and families experiencing extra‑familial harm and complex contextual risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing strong, consistent leadership and management oversight to social workers and practitioners, ensuring high‑quality, child‑centred and relationship‑based practice
  • Driving a contextual safeguarding approach for adolescents experiencing exploitation, missing episodes, peer harm and risk beyond the family home
  • Ensuring robust supervision, performance management and professional development for staff
  • Leading effective multi‑agency working across Police, Health, Education and community partners
  • Supporting the implementation of the Families First model within a locality‑based framework

Key Requirements

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration
  • Proven experience of managing or supervising social work staff
  • Experience of working with adolescents and complex safeguarding, including contextual and extra‑familial harm (or transferable leadership experience)
  • Ability to work flexibly across the locality, including travel within the county
  • Willingness to participate in occasional out‑of‑hours or weekend work, in line with service demands

Benefits

  • Market Supplement: up to £60,583 per annum (includes a £3,500 pro‑rated annual market supplement, subject to pension, tax and NI deductions)
  • The role also offers generous annual leave, an additional day at Christmas, a voluntary volunteering & wellbeing day, full reimbursement of the Social Work England annual fee and a Refer a Friend package for some roles

Qualifications and Conditions

  • All successful applicants will be subject to pre‑engagement checks, including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • The role requires fluency in spoken English and adherence to the Fluency Duty
  • Employees will also be required to undergo Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV)
