St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Leamington, is looking for a practical, reliable individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for children and staff. The start date is 1 August 2026.
Option 1 – Employed Caretaker Role
- 17.5 hours per week
- Approximately £13.26 per hour
Typical responsibilities would include:
- Unlocking the school site at approximately 7.00am
- Locking and securing the school site at approximately 6.00–6.30pm
- Carrying out statutory fire and water safety checks
- General maintenance and repairs around the school site
- Monitoring the condition, cleanliness and safety of the premises
- Liaising with contractors where required
The working pattern would usually involve approximately 3.5 hours per day, split across morning and evening duties.
Option 2 – Flexible Self-Employed / Contractor Arrangement
- Agreed locking-up evenings each week (for example, three evenings per week)
- All maintenance, testing, repairs and caretaking tasks charged to the school at £25 per hour, based on the hours required each month to fulfil the role
This arrangement may particularly suit someone already working in site management, maintenance or property services who is looking for additional flexible work.
