Job Title: Relief Drivers
Salary: £12.45 – £12.65 per hour, plus 14.49% salary enhancement for relief. You will also receive mileage & payment for travel time.
Contract: Split shifts (AM and PM), part time, term time.
Location: Vehicle Pickup points are throughout Worcestershire including Worcester, Evesham, Bromsgrove, Redditch and will consider from Kidderminster.

You will work as part of a team with a designated Passenger Assistant, who will attend to individual’s needs whilst traveling.
You’ll may need to assist with moving passengers, including using a tail lift, and securing wheelchairs etc as required. So please be aware that a basic level of physical fitness is required.
You’ll keep the vehicle in good working order by carrying out basic administration, keeping the vehicle clean, and of course topping it up with fuel.
You will always carry out Safety checks on the vehicle before collection and be a conscientious driver.
The role involves traveling on a vehicle on a split shift to safely transport passengers to their destination which will likely include mornings and afternoons.
Other opportunities are offered occasionally, these could be additional transport routes between your shifts or could be ad-hoc transport requests. These of course would give you an additional payment alongside your contracted salary.
You are required to develop and maintain good communication with the Passenger Assistant, passengers, and all members of the public.
For the majority of our routes drivers will require a category D1 license (or with 101 restriction (passed driving test before 1997)), PSV license will be advantageous, and with no more than 6 penalty points, this will be discussed with the recruitment manager. Please check the current contracts detailed below for more information.
As a driver, you will be required to:

  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Demonstrate evidence of experience driving appropriate vehicles and have the licence categories to support this.
  • Be required to successfully complete a County Council driving assessment before an interview.
We will provide:
  • In-house training.
  • Due to the nature of the work a criminal record check via the DBS disclosure service will be processed.

If you’re invited to an interview you’ll undertake the following:
  • Driving assessment – 1 hour
  • If you pass the assessment, a 30min Q&A interview will follow
  • If you are subsequently offered a role with us you’ll be able to complete your DBS application online following the interview.
Relief Drivers:
  • Relief roles attract a +14.49% pay enhancement.
  • Millage is covered
  • Travel time payment
  • D1 Licence (with 101 restriction is accepted. Generally if you passed your driving test before 1997) needed
  • Relief Drivers provide cover for sickness, holidays, vacancies, training dates and busy periods.
  • Available hours are at the discretion of business needs, and at your discretion should you want to accept any if they arise.
