Project Archivist – The Illuminating Chance Collection Project Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Project Archivist for a fixed-term position until 29 June 2026. This role is part of the Archives Revealed programme funded by The National Archives, aimed at cataloguing and promoting access to the Chance Brothers Ltd. Collection, a significant historical glassmaking collection from Smethwick. The main responsibilities include: Making the collection accessible through cataloguing in line with relevant standards. Participating in outreach activities such as talks, visits, and exhibitions. Collaborating with volunteers, staff, and external partners to achieve project outputs. Essential requirements: Degree in Archives and/or Records Management or equivalent practical experience. Experience in outreach work and cataloguing archival collections using platforms like Axiell Calm. Experience working with volunteers.
