About the role
Old Hill Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the West Midlands. We are looking to appoint a confident and committed Principal Supervisory Assistant to lead the delivery of high-quality OPAL provision during lunchtimes.
Start date: ASAP.
Working pattern: 11:45 am – 1:45 pm daily (OPAL play continues until approximately 1:15 pm; additional time for set-up, pack-down and team support), plus 1 hour per week for planning and feedback.
Reporting to: Headteacher.
Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with an existing member of staff to lead OPAL play provision across the school.
- Lead the delivery of high-quality, child-led play opportunities during lunchtime.
- Support and guide the play team to ensure consistency and positive interactions.
- Promote a calm, structured and inclusive play environment.
- Ensure all staff are actively facilitating play and following agreed expectations.
- Organise, maintain and develop a wide range of engaging play resources.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development through play.
- Work with pupils to develop and improve play provision.
- Contribute to planning and delivering play initiatives and events.
- Ensure safeguarding, behaviour and health.
