Bearwood Primary is looking for a self‑motivated and enthusiastic person to lead a team of lunch supervisors, ensuring lunchtimes run effectively and are a positive experience for all children.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of lunch supervisors during school terms.
- Ensure that lunchtimes run smoothly and safely.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive environment for all children.
- Co‑operate with staff, headteacher and volunteers to support child welfare.
- Conduct or facilitate safeguarding checks and comply with DBS requirements.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience working with children, ideally in a supervisory role.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies and DBS procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Fluent spoken and written English (essential).
Position Details
- Hours: 9.75 hours daily (11.45‑13.30) plus 1 hour weekly planning meeting (term‑time only, 38 weeks).
- Grade: Band D SCP 9‑17 – £27 254 – £31 022 (actual salary £6 270 – £7 325 p.a.).
- Location: Bearwood Primary School, Bearwood, Smethwick B66 4HA.
- Closing Date: Thursday 25 June 2026.

Recruitment Process

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is eligible for an enhanced DBS check including a Children’s Barring List Check.
