Team SUA are looking to recruit a graduate seeking a postgraduate level 6 apprenticeship to gain qualified teacher status. You would join our experienced and supportive team and receive high quality tuition from the University of Staffordshire. We are committed to continually improving the quality of our provision. We have access to high quality facilities and resources and work within a strong team structure that allows best practice to be shared. The successful candidate will join a team of friendly and supportive colleagues who want to achieve the very best outcomes for our students.

This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring teachers to begin their career as a postgraduate apprentice teacher of maths, English or science, enabling you to earn a salary while training with no tuition fees or student loan. You will spend the majority of your time (~80%) gaining practical, hands‑on experience in school, supported by experienced colleagues, including a 6‑week placement at a partner school or academy. The remaining 20% of the apprenticeship is dedicated to off‑the‑job training, delivered through weekly taught sessions every Thursday at the University of Staffordshire’s Stoke‑on‑Trent campus, where you will explore educational theory and research led by expert tutors. Throughout the programme, you will receive high‑quality mentoring and structured support from both Staffordshire University Academy (SUA) and the university, helping you to develop the skills, confidence, and professionalism required to succeed in the classroom. On successful completion, you will achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), providing a clear and supportive pathway into a rewarding career in teaching.
