Light Hall School is seeking a Pastoral Manager for Key Stage 5, starting on 1 September 2026. This is a full-time position, equivalent to 37 hours per week, for 38 weeks per year. Working hours are from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.00 am to 3.30 pm on Friday. The salary ranges from £32,957 to £37,280 per annum (full time), with an actual salary for term time only of £27,558 to £31,173 per annum.
Responsibilities:
- Make a real difference to sixth-form students at a key stage in their education and future lives.
- Drive high standards of behaviour, attendance, punctuality, and engagement across Key Stage 5.
- Work closely with students, parents, carers, tutors, senior leaders, the safeguarding team, and external agencies to create a supportive culture.
- Remove barriers to success by using attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and intervention data to identify concerns early.
- Support students in planning their next steps, contributing to UCAS and post-18 progression work.
- Act as the key point of contact for safeguarding concerns within Key Stage 5.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to emerging issues and support vulnerable learners.
- Build professional relationships with young people while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.
- Be organised, resilient, solution-focused, and confident in challenging and supporting students.
