Overview

Operations Accountant role at Tamworth Borough Council. This is a Permanent position with a home working contract, 37 hours per week. Salary £50,269 - £54,495 per annum. Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Set in the beautiful county of Staffordshire, Tamworth is a vibrant town with rich heritage. This will assist with our mission to restore Tamworth town centre as the beating heart of the community, a place that people want to visit, rather than a place they have to visit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Operational Finance team in providing a pro-active, customer focused financial support service to Members and the Corporate Management Team.
  • Manage a team to oversee the delivery of procurement, ledger system administration, insurance and risk management, leasing, VAT, creditors and bank services functions.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to senior officers, Members and staff, aligned to their diverse operational areas; contribute to the development and improvement of financial processes and procedures; and manage the Operational Finance team to ensure the development of highly skilled and motivated staff.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or professional CCAB qualification fully or partly qualified.
  • Extensive experience in local authority finance, and experience of managing and developing staff may also be considered.
