Sutherland Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a one‑to‑one teaching assistant in our Reception class to support an individual child, sometimes within small groups, ensuring access to a differentiated curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Support an individual child and, where appropriate, small groups, making adjustments as needed to ensure access to a differentiated curriculum.
  • Be proactive and flexible in supporting the child’s needs.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to deliver a personalised programme of support to meet targets.
  • Support and maintain positive links between home and school.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to draw upon skills, knowledge and recommendations to help support the child.
  • Support the child’s personal care and needs.
  • Ensure work meets the requirements set out in the pupil’s Education Health Care Plan.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • All applicants will be required to provide two suitable professional references.
  • Prior experience working with children with special educational needs and experience of supporting children to meet their Education Health Care Plan is desirable.
