Salary: Grade F £37,280 – £41,771 per annum plus excellent benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Youth Justice Business Manager to join Sandwell Youth Justice Service. This is a key role requiring a strong understanding of Youth Justice practice, statutory frameworks and performance requirements, supporting the strategic and operational delivery of the service.

The role:

  • Ensuring statutory returns and performance requirements for the Youth Justice Board, Home Office and other bodies are fully understood, planned and delivered accurately and on time.
  • Developing, maintaining and presenting high‑quality performance information, including trackers, dashboards and reports to support service improvement and management oversight.
  • Acting as the lead officer for performance data quality, analysis and reporting within the Youth Justice Service, including preparation for HMIP inspections.
  • Acting as the single point of contact with system suppliers, including CACI / ChildView, providing specialised advice, resolving issues and supporting system development.
  • Leading on the delivery of systems and data training for staff to promote accurate and consistent recording practice.
  • Oversight of finance processes within the service, including monitoring income, supporting invoicing and liaising with finance colleagues.
  • Maintaining clear procedures and compliance with information governance requirements, including GDPR and Freedom of Information legislation.
  • Working proactively with managers and practitioners to strengthen understanding and use of performance information across the service.

About you:

  • A strong understanding of Youth Justice is essential, including knowledge of statutory responsibilities, performance frameworks and inspection expectations.
  • You will have significant experience working within a Youth Justice environment, with the credibility to work effectively with managers, practitioners and partners.
  • You will have experience of collecting, analysing and interpreting performance and numerical data to produce meaningful management information.
  • Knowledge and experience of the CACI / ChildView system is highly desirable; however, candidates with strong transferable systems experience and a willingness to develop CACI expertise will be considered.
  • You will have excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data clearly to a range of audiences.
  • You will be a motivated self‑starter, able to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
  • You will demonstrate a commitment to equality, inclusion and continuous improvement.
