Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, The Head Teacher and Governors of Burnt Tree Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated, proactive and highly practical Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of our school site. As a two-form entry primary school, we require someone who takes pride in their work and is committed to ensuring our environment is safe, well maintained and continually improved for our children, staff and wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the maintenance, safety and security of the school buildings and grounds
- Carry out frequent, proactive maintenance tasks to ensure the site remains in excellent condition
- Undertake a wide range of basic DIY and repair work (including painting, minor plumbing, adjustments and general upkeep)
- Identify and address maintenance issues early, ensuring a high standard of presentation at all times
- Manage and supervise cleaning staff, maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the school
- Act as a key holder, including opening and closing the site and responding to alarms where required
- Carry out routine health & safety, compliance and site checks
- Liaise with and oversee external contractors
- Support with room setups, school events and lettings

- Has strong practical DIY and maintenance skills
- Is proactive and takes ownership of keeping the site to a high standard
- Has a keen eye for detail and takes pride in their work
- Can work independently and manage their own workload effectively
- Has experience in site management, caretaking or a similar role
- Can confidently manage and support cleaning staff
- Has a good understanding of health & safety requirements
- Is flexible and willing to support the school with occasional weekend or out-of-hours work

- Monday to Friday (Term-time) 6.30am β 10.30am and 2.30pm β 6.00pm
