Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s Democratic Services Division is seeking a professional, collaborative and highly organised individual to join the team as a Civic and Member Support Officer. This role provides high-quality, confidential and flexible support to Elected Members, helping to ensure the effective functioning of democratic services and excellent support for Members in the delivery of their duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential, professional and responsive support to Elected Members
  • Manage Member casework from initial enquiry through to resolution, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with internal services and external partners to resolve enquiries effectively
  • Support Member development activity, including induction and ongoing learning opportunities
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and the effective delivery of democratic services
