Job Summary
- Take the lead role in overall project management of the Sandwell Plan process.
- Undertake detailed project management work with full operational responsibility and accountability for plan delivery.
- Ensure progress and milestones for the overall project and individual work areas are reviewed, updated and achieved; proactively resolve issues and challenges for timely delivery.
- Maintain an overview of project risks and manage them proactively.
- Oversee budgets and resources, provide regular reports, and ensure effective project management and delivery.
- Develop working partnerships within and outside the council and engage effectively with senior local authority colleagues, elected members locally, sub-regionally and regionally.
Essential requirements for the role
- Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
- Proven experience of managing delivery of projects, ideally in a planning‑based field, including budget management.
- Experience of working with elected members.
- Knowledge of the planning system as it relates to the adoption of planning policy.
