Family Support Worker – Kinship & Reunification Hub

Band E SCP 18 – 25 (£31,537 – £36,363 per annum) dependent upon experience

Hours – 37 per week

Contract – 12 months fixed term

Post holder responsibilities

• Working directly with birth parents and children to support successful timely reunification.
• Empowering parents by building their skills and confidence in parenting.
• Coordinating timely referrals to specialist services.
• Supporting children and young people through care transitions.
• Championing the voices of vulnerable children and families.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or evidence of previous similar study
• Experience of direct work with children or adults
• Basic knowledge of child development
• A driving licence
• Ability to work flexibly and outside core working hours, including weekends and early evenings when families are together
• Excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone
• Good IT skills
• Good team player, self‑motivating, reflective and able to use own initiative
• Able to remain focused despite oppositional challenges from families
