Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for Electricians. As an electrician with Sandwell, you will undertake a full range of electrical repairs, cyclical maintenance and installation works to domestic/voids, including leasehold and private tenants, commercial and public buildings. You will have use of a company vehicle for business use. You will work as part of a team to deliver a customer focused, value for money Asset Management & Maintenance Service.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the co-ordination of materials and plant in order to maximise the effectiveness of building maintenance work undertaken.
  • The work will involve all aspects of the repair process from the initial receipt of electrical works orders to satisfactory completion of works on site.
  • This will include meeting customers, carrying out initial on-site assessments, communicating with line managers, other employees, including external parties obtaining variations to the work required, no access recalls, completing detailed works order information using schedule of rates items, procedures for obtaining materials and material deliveries, rubbish collections to receive and complete work allocation, via a personal digital assistant (PDA).
  • You may at times be issued with job tickets of varying work types and priorities (including appointments) and will be required to monitor work priorities/appointments to ensure completion within timescales or appointed time and certify that jobs are compliant with electrical regulations upon completion.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 Electrical installation or equivalent electrical qualification.
  • City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 Certificate in Electro-Technical Technology (electrical installation), 2365 part 1 & 2 2360, 236 or equivalent.
  • 18th edition regulations BS7671 :2382 AM2 or equivalent.
  • 2391 test and inspection or willing to undertake.
  • C&G 2921-31 Level 3 Award in the Design and Installation of Domestic and Small Commercial Electric Vehicle Charging Installations, or willing to undertake.
  • Photovoltaic solar C&G 2399 level 3 or willing to undertake.
  • Electrical energy storage systems or willing to undertake (EESS).
