Responsibilities

  • Lead on all safeguarding and child protection matters, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education)
  • Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns, liaising with external agencies where appropriate
  • Provide advice, support and training to staff to foster a strong safeguarding culture
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, up-to-date safeguarding records
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to promote the wellbeing and safety of all pupils

Qualifications and Experience

  • Substantial experience in safeguarding within an educational setting
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Committed to the highest standards of child protection and welfare
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and Pre-employment checks in line with KCSIE
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Must be eligible for a Children’s Barring List Check; barred individuals will be disqualified
  • Compliance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016)

Working Conditions

  • Hours: 37 hours per week (Permanent)
  • Salary: £37,280 – £41,771 (Grade F, SCP 26-31)
  • Location: 46 Penncricket Ln, Oldbury B68 8LX
  • Job Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026
